Clapotis status

I have dropped 9 sts thus far. I have 4 more straight rows to go before I can start my decreases. I can't wait to wear it! I even have the yarn for my next one picked out.
Last month the temperature hit the low 80's and I thought my scarf/shawl wearing days were through. This month it has been beautiful in the mid-high 60's, though windy as Hell. My allergies are in full bloom as are the mulberry trees and others. Even the Zyrtec can't touch this. I hope to finish Clapotis by next weekend so I can wear it for warmth and not just as a fashion statement. Although I have been known to suffer for fashion...thanks Mom! For all that don't know Rosie, my Mom, fashion diva extraordinaire, she who taught her daughters that suffering for fashion is expected of girls. I try, but my dogs hurt so much that I try to be fashionable so far as my Birkies let me.

My clapotis thus far. I have been able to work only a few rows a day so this has been dragging on and on. I get so excited when I'm able to drop a stitch. I hope to get at least two more done tonight while I'm watching Survivor.  Posted by Hello

My Clapotis has a first name...

Just recently started the Clapotis scarf/shawl from the Knitty site.

I also joined the Yahoo! group for the Clapotis Knit Along. I just love seeing what everyone has come up with. This thing is addicting from what I've seen. It is an easy knit so far, but then again, I'm still on section 2 (increasing). I have been grabbing it whenever I can but I was knitting washcloths to add to my Bunco gifts. My game was last night and everyone got bath & body stuff. It has been so long since I've done a washcloth. I made the round petal design cloth. Very nice and impressive looking.

I have been using the very inexpensive Red Heart Supersaver in the Gemstone colorway (Teal, purple, magenta) for my Clapotis. I was going to order some sock yarn from KnitPicks.com,
but I was concerned that it was too light weight for this project. I saw some people using Caron and Red Heart because they didn't want to invest in the project and not like it afterwards. I just have to use up some of my stash. I didn't have enough for an afghan but I don't know how many skeins this project will take so I went out an bought another one. I'll post a picture of my progress soon.

Sold!

Today Pam also bought the brown bag with the brown/grey/black stripes. Thanks again Pammy! I tell you, these girls that I work with are my biggest fans. They support me creatively in all of my projects. I just love them.

Jeanne gave me a birthday card that said, "Turning 40 is like peeing in the pool...If you're lucky, no one will notice."

Before I forget, Joleen asked me to make a couple more scarves for her in-laws today. One will be pink Cha-Cha with pink Jiffy and the other will be a purple Allure with Parrott Boa. Guess I'll be going to Michael's after work. Hey, it's quitting time now! Gotta go.
